FROM A QUESTION TO AN ANSWER

An AI connection
you can understand.

Nearby AI connects your conversation to a selected device’s configured engine. It is not an automatic agent with access to your files.

01 / ASK

Your phone

Write a prompt in the selected PC’s Nearby AI conversation.

02 / APPROVE

A trusted connection

The host checks that this device has permission to use its engine.

03 / GENERATE

Your AI engine

The configured host generates the answer. Ollama streams it back.

AI THAT HAS A PLACE IN YOUR DAY

Put your desktop’s
intelligence to work.

Access a model running on your PC from the device already in your hand. These are example prompts, not automated workflows.

BUILD & LEARN

A second perspective
on your code.

Ask a shared model to explain a pasted snippet, compare approaches or draft a small function.

“Explain this function and suggest a clearer version.”

WRITE & THINK

Turn a rough thought
into a useful draft.

Brainstorm a plan, rewrite text or summarize notes you choose to paste into the conversation.

“Turn these notes into a short project plan.”

USE YOUR HOST

Keep the model
on the bigger machine.

Use the PC’s installed model from your phone. Model performance depends on the host hardware.

Phone for the question. PC for the generation.

LESS FRICTION. MORE CONNECTION.

A little closer.
A lot more possible.

One open-source toolkit for the moments your phone and computer need to work together.

GOOD QUESTIONS

A few things to know.

Does NearMitra need the internet?

Nearby chat and file transfers use a working local LAN or supported Wi-Fi Direct/P2P connection. WAN requires internet and your own Firebase setup. Cloud AI providers also need internet; a local Ollama host depends on the model and host configuration.

Can my Android phone connect to my Windows PC?

Yes. Run NearMitra on both devices, join the same local network or establish a supported P2P link, then discover and select the other device. Approve access requests on the receiving device.

Where can I download the Android APK or Windows installer?

Check the project’s GitHub Releases for published assets. Local build filenames in the repository documentation are not public download links. If an asset is not published, follow the build instructions in the source repository.

THE NEXT CHAPTER / PROPOSED DIRECTION

From connected devices
to deliberate actions.

What could come next: permissioned agents and an MCP integration layer. These are future ideas, not features shipped in the current app.

PROPOSED · NOT SHIPPED

Ask. Review. Approve. Run.

A possible agent experience would make the requested action, target device and permission scope visible before a tool runs. An MCP layer could expose explicitly approved tools to compatible AI clients.
